Two senior defensive backs announce they will return next season
Good news was the theme of the day for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Two senior defensive backs announced they would run it back in 2022. Adrian Frye and Marquis Waters set to play under Joey McGuire and Tim DeRuyter.
It started with Waters’ announcement on Twitter:
But wait there’s more. Adrian Frye announced shortly after Waters that he would return as well.
Both members will give the Red Raiders some experience and veteran leadership on the back end of the team. Frye will return for his fifth year due to the COVID-19 season of 2020 that gave players one more year of eligibility. As a freshman in 2018, Frye tallied five interceptions.

Marquis Waters returns for his sixth season of college football, a real-life Van Wilder. He appeared in just four games before a season-ending injury. Waters transferred after the 2020 season to Texas Tech from Duke.
